Hideki Matsuyama adds to another tradition at Masters

Matsuyama becomes 7th player to go from low amateur at a Masters to winning green jacket at Augusta National

7: Number of Masters champions who were honored as the low amateur at Augusta National Golf Club earlier in their careers. Japan’s Hideki Matsuyama, who won the 2021 Masters after being the low amateur at the 2011 Masters, joined an elite club within a club of Masters champions when he won the 85th edition of the tournament Sunday. The others: Cary Middlecoff, Jack Nicklaus, Ben Crenshaw, Phil Mickelson, Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia.
