Max Homa jumps to 38th in world order, earns WGC spot

With victory at Genesis Invitational, Homa improves 53 spots in world ranking and grabs start this week in WGC Workday

38: Position in the Official World Golf Ranking for American Max Homa, who improved 53 spots to a career high in the world order after his victory Sunday at the Genesis Invitational. By moving into the world’s top 50, Homa, 30, earned a spot in this week’s WGC Workday Championship field at The Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Fla. It will be his third appearance in a WGC event, though he was qualified last season for two others that were canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The top of the world ranking remained unchanged, with Dustin Johnson at No. 1 for a 27th consecutive week. The WGC Workday tournament begins a four-week Florida Swing for the PGA Tour on the run-up to the season's first major championship, the Masters on April 8-11 at Augusta National Golf Club.
