QBE Shootout will adopt 3 different formats – scramble, modified alternate shot and four-balls – for the PGA Tour team exhibition
3: Number of different formats to be used in as many days at this week’s QBE Shootout, an unofficial PGA Tour event that begins Friday in Naples, Fla. Twenty-four players consisting of 12 two-man teams will play a scramble on Friday, modified alternate shot on Saturday and a four-ball on Sunday. The QBE Shootout, founded by Greg Norman and in its 32nd year, formerly was known as the Shark Shootout. It will be held at Ritz-Carlton Resort’s Tiburon Golf Club for the 20th consecutive year. Kevin Tway and Rory Sabbatini return to defend their 2019 title. Bubba Watson, who will partner with fellow major champion Louis Oosthuizen, joins 2021 Ryder Cup captain Steve Stricker, who will team with Daniel Berger, as the winningest players in the field. Each has won 12 times on the PGA Tour. The winning team will earn $895,000 from the $3.6 million purse (tee times).
