After winning last week’s event on European and Sunshine tours, South African shoots 67 to share lead at South African Open
6: Number of players tied for the lead Thursday after the first round of the South African Open, which is co-sponsored by the European Tour and Sunshine Tour. Four South Africans – Christiaan Bezuidenhout, Dean Burmester, Ruan Korb and Jacques Kruyswijk – shared the lead with Austria’s Matthias Schwab and Italy’s Aron Zemmer at 5-under 67 at Gary Player Country Club in Sun City, South Africa. Bezuidenhout picked up where he left off last week in posting a four-stroke victory in the Alfred Dunhill Championship. In the process, he improved to No. 41 in the world and in position to return to the Masters (scores).
