Dane pulls away for 4-stroke victory at Andalucia Costa Del Sol Open for her 5th title of the year and the tour's season crown
3: Number of consecutive victories on the Ladies European Tour for Denmark’s Emily Kristine Pedersen, who completed a four-stroke victory Sunday in the season-ending Andalucia Costa Del Sol Open in Marbella, Spain. Pedersen, 24, closed with a bogey-free 6-under 66 and 15-under 273 total at Real Club de Golf Guadalmina’s South Course. She is only the second player to win three consecutive tournaments on the LET, joining Marie-Laure de Lorenzi, who did it in 1989. It was the fifth victory of the season in 12 starts for Pedersen and her sixth overall on the LET. In addition to the €90,000 (about $107,700) winner’s check, she also earned €20,000 (about $24,000) for claiming the inaugural Race to Costa del Sol season crown. Pedersen will be entered in next week’s U.S. Women’s Open. Spain’s Nuria Iturrioz (69) finished second at 11-under 277, followed by Spanish amateur Ana Pelaez (67), a University of South Carolina senior, at 7-under 281 (scores).
