Americans share lead at LPGA Drive On Championship

Danielle Kang, who is seeking her 3rd victory since the season restart, shot 7-under 65 to join Jennifer Song atop the leaderboard

65: Scores for Americans Danielle Kang and Jennifer Song, who shared the first-round lead Thursday at the LPGA Drive On Championship in Greensboro, Ga. Kang, 27, a two-time winner since the LPGA season restart in July, played bogey-free golf at Reynolds Lake Oconee en route to her 7-under score. “It's definitely good to have a good start on Thursday,” Kang said. “Still got three more rounds left, and I have a lot of work to do still.” Song, 30, who is looking for her first LPGA victory, offset one bogey with eight birdies. “I'm really happy about 7 under par today,” Song said. “I didn't think that was possible to shoot that score out there, but I had a great round.” American Ally McDonald shot 66 to stand alone in third place (scores).
