Sergio Garcia bounces back in world ranking

Spaniard improves to No. 38 after winning Sanderson Farms Championship, his 1st PGA Tour title since the 2017 Masters

38: Position in the Official World Golf Ranking for Sergio Garcia, who won the PGA Tour’s Sanderson Farms Championship on Sunday and stopped his slide in the world ranking. Garcia, 40, had not won on the PGA Tour since he claimed the 2017 Masters for his only major championship, though he had won three times on his home European Tour in the succeeding years. He had slipped to No. 51 in the OWGR, his lowest position since 2011, before his two-stroke victory at the Country Club of Jackson in Mississippi’s capital. Also in the world ranking, England’s Aaron Rai vaulted 95 spots, to a career-high No. 88, after he won the European Tour’s Scottish Open. The victory came one week after he finished runner-up at the Irish Open.
