With 2 consecutive top-10 finishes on the PGA Tour, the American looks like somebody who won’t be on the Korn Ferry Tour for long
2: Number of consecutive top-10 finishes for American Will Zalatoris, who is trying to earn his way onto the PGA Tour amid an outstanding year on the Korn Ferry Tour. Zalatoris, 24, a second-year pro from Plano, Texas, by way of Wake Forest University, will be looking to ride a season of top finishes to his first PGA Tour victory this week at the Sanderson Farms Championship in Jackson, Miss. Before Zalatoris tied for sixth in the U.S. Open and added a T-8 at last week’s Corales Puntacana event on the PGA Tour, he posted eight top-10 finishes in 11 starts on the developmental tour, including a victory at the TPC Colorado Championship, since the season restart. Zalatoris has set a record on the developmental tour with 11 straight top-20 results. He has surged to No. 70 in the world ranking after having ended last year at No. 672. And if Zalatoris needs a further boost, he should know that the Sanderson Farms event has crowned six consecutive first-time PGA Tour winners. Play begins Thursday at Country Club of Jackson (tee times).
