3 share lead in Portugal as European Tour plays catch-up

England’s Nathan Kimsey and Andrew Wilson join local favorite Vitor Lopes at 8-under 136 heading into a 36-hole Sunday

3: Number of players tied for the lead when play was suspended by darkness Saturday at the European Tour’s Portugal Open in Obidos, Portugal. Englishmen Nathan Kimsey and Andrew Wilson shot matching 67s at Royal Obidos Spa and Golf Resort to catch first-round leader Vitor Lopes of Portugal, who shot 71, at 8-under 136. All are looking for their first victories on the European Tour. Wales’ Jamie Donaldson eagled his last hole, the par-5 18th, to shoot 67 and sit one stroke off the lead. Strong winds suspended play in the first round and altered the schedule for ensuing rounds, leaving many players looking at a 36-hole day Sunday. The third round was set to resume Sunday morning. The Portugal Open, the tour's third consecutive tournament on the Iberian Peninsula, is a dual-ranking event on the European and Challenge tours (scores).
