Tournament has been reduced to 54 holes and delayed until Friday because of wildfires and poor air quality in the Pacific Northwest
49: Number of consecutive years that the LPGA has visited Portland, Ore. The Cambia Portland Classic, which will begin Friday at Columbia Edgewater Country Club, was reduced to 54 holes after the LPGA opted to eliminate Thursday’s first round because of wildfires in the Pacific Northwest and the diminished air quality (tee times). The $1.75 million event dates to 1972, when Kathy Whitworth won the inaugural Portland Ladies Classic at Portland Golf Club.
