Miguel Angel Jimenez claims 10th title on Champions Tour

Spaniard posts 1-stroke victory in Sanford International, his 2nd triumph of the season on the 50-and-older tour

10: Number of career victories on the Champions Tour for Spain's Miguel Angel Jimenez, who won the Sanford International on Sunday in Sioux Falls, S.D. Jimenez made eagle and birdie on the two par 5s on the back nine at Minnehaha Country Club en route to a final-round 5-under 65 and 14-under 196 total. He outlasted American Steve Flesch, who shot 63 for a 13-under 197 total and second place. Germany’s Bernhard Langer (65) and American Steve Stricker (67) shared third place at 12-under 198. Jimenez, who won in Hawaii early this year, becomes the first player with two victories this season on the 50-and-older tour. Jimenez, 56, won 21 times on the European Tour and played on four Ryder Cup teams for Europe (scores).
