American shoots 8-under 63 in final round to win Walmart NW Arkansas Championship for her 2nd career LPGA title and 1st in 6 years
63: Closing score for American Austin Ernst, who erased a four-stroke deficit entering the final round to win the LPGA’s Walmart NW Arkansas Championship on Sunday in Rogers, Ark. Ernst made 10 birdies in an 8-under round at Pinnacle Country Club to finish at 20-under 193 for a two-stroke victory in the 54-hole event. It was her second LPGA victory and her first in six years. Ernst, 28, who won the 2011 NCAA championship as a freshman at LSU, started the final round tied for third, four strokes behind Anna Nordqvist, who closed with a 69 to finish runner-up at 18-under 195. Americans Angela Stanford (65) and Nelly Korda (67) shared third place at 16-under 197 (scores).
