Stacy Lewis puts LPGA streak on line in Arkansas

University of Arkansas alumna has made 12 cuts in as many starts at Walmart NW Arkansas Championship, including a 2014 victory

12: Number of official starts that Stacy Lewis has made at the LPGA’s Walmart NW Arkansas Championship, which begins Friday at Pinnacle Country Club in Rogers, Ark. Lewis, a 2008 University of Arkansas graduate, won the inaugural tournament in 2007 as an amateur, but the event was ruled unofficial when rain reduced the tournament to 18 holes. In her ensuing 12 starts in Arkansas, Lewis has made the cut every year and posted six top-10 finishes, including a victory in 2014. Lewis, 35, a 13-time winner on the LPGA, claimed her first title in three years when she won the Ladies Scottish Open two weeks ago. She will be among four Arkansas alumna in the field, with Maria Fassi, Gaby Lopez and Alana Uriell. Also, three current Arkansas players will compete on sponsor exemptions: Ela Anacona, Maria Hoyos and Brooke Matthews (tee times).
