Victory brings big boost in world order for Sophia Popov

In winning Women’s British Open for her 1st victory on the LPGA, German leaps from No. 304 to 24th in ranking

24: Position in the Rolex Rankings for Germany’s Sophia Popov, who won the Women’s British Open on Sunday at Scotland’s Royal Troon for her first victory on the LPGA. Popov had been ranked No. 304 after having played mostly on the developmental Symetra Tour. Australia’s Minjee Lee jumped three spots, to No. 5, after she finished third at the Open. The top four spots remained unchanged, led by South Korea’s Jin Young Ko and followed by American Danielle Kang, South Korea’s Sung Hyun Park and American Nelly Korda.
