Doubleheader at Welsh resort begins with inaugural Celtic Classic at site of 2010 Ryder Cup, which didn’t end well for the Americans
2: Number of consecutive weeks that the European Tour will compete at Celtic Manor Resort in Newport, Wales, beginning with this week’s inaugural Celtic Classic. The tournament, the fourth stop on the tour’s six-event U.K. Swing of the revised 2020 schedule, precedes next week’s ISPS Handa Wales Open on the same Twenty Ten Course that hosted the 2010 Ryder Cup, which the Europeans won, 14½-13½. England’s Ross Fisher and Italy’s Edoardo Molinari, who played on that European team, will be part of this week’s field. The Celtic Classic will feature the three winners from the tour’s previous U.K. Swing events in recent weeks: Italy's Renato Paratore (Betfred British Masters), England's Sam Horsfield (Hero Open) and England's Andy Sullivan (English Championship) (tee times).
