After winning LPGA’s return to competition last week, American opens with 7-under 64 to share lead with New Zealand’s Lydia Ko in Marathon LPGA Classic
64: First-round scores for co-leaders Danielle Kang and Lydia Ko on Thursday at the Marathon LPGA Classic in Sylvania, Ohio. Kang, of the U.S., and Ko, of New Zealand, posted matching 7-under scores at Highland Meadows Golf Club to lead American Megan Khang by one stroke. Kang is coming off a victory last week at the Drive On Championship, the LPGA’s return to competition after a 5½-month suspension in play because of the global coronavirus pandemic. Kang, 27, has risen to No. 2 in the world. Ko, 23, a 15-time winner on the LPGA, is looking for her first victory in nearly 2½ years (scores).
