Jim Furyk shows he still knows how to win

American prevails in his Champions Tour debut, posting a 2-stroke victory at the Ally Challenge

1: Number of Champions Tour victories, in as many career starts, for American Jim Furyk, who won in his debut on the 50-and-older tour. Furyk, who turned 50 in May, shot 4-under 68 on Sunday for a 14-under 202 total in the Ally Challenge at Warwick Hills in Grand Blanc, Mich. American Brett Quigley, who made bogey on his last two holes to shoot 71, tied with South Africa’s Retief Goosen (66) for second at 12-under 204. Furyk won 17 times on the PGA Tour, including the 2003 U.S. Open. His most recent victory occurred on April 19, 2015, at the RBC Heritage. The Ally Challenge was the Champions Tour’s first tournament since March 8, shortly before the global coronavirus pandemic suspended the season for the 50-and-older tour (scores).
