American wins Drive On Championship, the LPGA’s return to competition after a 5½-month suspension because of the coronavirus, for her 4th title in the past 4 years

Kang, 27, closed with a 2-under 70 for a 7-under 209 total and one-stroke victory Sunday in the Drive On Championship at Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio. It was the LPGA’s first tournament since Feb. 16, before the global coronavirus pandemic suspended the season for the women’s tour. France’s Celine Boutier shot 71 for a 6-under 210 total and second place. Kang, who was the No. 4 player in the Rolex Rankings, was the 2010 U.S. Women's Amateur champion before she turned professional in 2011 and joined the LPGA in 2012 (scores).
