17 of the top 20 players in the world will compete in the final event before the season’s long-delayed first major championship
78: Number of players entered in the WGC FedEx St. Jude Invitational, a no-cut PGA Tour event that begins Thursday at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tenn. Of the top 20 players in the Official World Golf Ranking, only No. 9 Adam Scott, No. 15 Tiger Woods and No. 17 Justin Rose are not entered. In one of the featured pairings, Spain's Jon Rahm, the top-ranked player in the world and winner of the recent Memorial Tournament, will be paired with No. 7 Bryson DeChambeau, who won four weeks ago in Detroit and leads the tour in driving distance, and American Rickie Fowler. The FedEx St. Jude event will be the final tournament before next week’s PGA Championship, the first major event in a season schedule reshuffled because of the global coronavirus pandemic (tee times).
