Dustin Johnson moves to No. 3 in world

Victory at Travelers Championship propels American closer to No. 1 ranking, which he last held in 2019

3: Position in the Official World Golf Ranking for American Dustin Johnson, who improved three spots in the world order with his one-stroke victory Sunday at the PGA Tour’s Travelers Championship in Cromwell, Conn. Johnson, 35, posted his 21st career victory and extended his streak of seasons in which he has won at least once to 13. Johnson was No. 1 in the world on five different occasions for a total of 91 weeks, most recently in May 2019. Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy retained the top spot for the ninth consecutive week, and Spain’s Jon Rahm remained No. 2. Canadian Mackenzie Hughes moved into the top 100 for the first time in his career, at No. 98, on the strength of a T-3 at Travelers.
