Jones outlasts Paul Haley II and Daniel Summerhays in a playoff, halting a bid by Summerhays for a feel-good send-off as a touring pro at his home-state Utah Championship
20: Number of strokes under par that American Kyle Jones shot for 72 holes before winning with a birdie on the second playoff hole to claim the Korn Ferry Tour’s Utah Championship on Sunday in Farmington, Utah. Jones, Paul Haley II and Daniel Summerhays had tied at 264 at Oakridge Country Club. Summerhays was eliminated with a bogey on the first playoff hole, the par-4 10th, before Jones clipped Haley with a birdie at the par-4 18th to win. Summerhays, who played eight seasons on the PGA Tour, announced before the tournament that the event in his home state would be his final appearance as a touring professional. Jones won his first Korn Ferry Tour title in his 61st start spanning three-plus seasons on the developmental tour. He played the PGA Tour in 2018-19 but did not retain playing privileges (scores).
