England’s Hall and Germany’s Jaeger shoot 8-under 63s to set 1st-round pace in Utah Championship
63: Score for England’s Harry Hall and Germany’s Stephan Jaeger, who shared the lead Thursday at the Korn Ferry Tour’s Utah Championship. Hall birdied his first three holes at Oakridge Country Club in Farmington, Utah, before an out-of-bounds tee ball at the par-4 fifth hole halted his momentum with a double bogey. He quickly recovered with birdies at Nos. 6 and 7 as he played the final 13 holes in 7 under. Hall missed the cut two weeks ago in the Korn Ferry Tour’s season restart, which was his first career appearance on the developmental tour. Jaeger’s only blemish also was at the fifth hole, his 14th of the day, as he three-putted for bogey. Jaeger has made six cuts in seven starts this year, though he failed to advance to weekend play last week at the King & Bear Classic. Jaeger, who played college golf at Tennessee-Chattanooga, has won four times in 90 starts on the Korn Ferry Tour. He played the PGA Tour during the past two seasons (scores).
