Webb Simpson reaches career high in world ranking

American rises 4 spots, to No. 5, after victory in PGA Tour’s RBC Heritage

5: Position in the Official World Golf Ranking for American Webb Simpson, who improved four spots to a career high in the world order after he won the PGA Tour’s RBC Heritage on Sunday. In winning his second tournament of the year and the seventh of his career, Simpson jumped ahead of No. 6 Dustin Johnson, No. 7 Patrick Reed, No. 8 Adam Scott and No. 9 Patrick Cantlay. Nos. 1-4 – Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm, Justin Thomas and Brooks Koepka – remained unchanged in the second update of the world ranking since the PGA Tour resumed play earlier this month in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
