American birdies 5 of his last 7 holes to shoot 7-under 64 for a tournament-record 22-under total at Harbour Town
2: Number of PGA Tour victories this year for American Webb Simpson, who rallied on the back nine Sunday to win the storm-delayed RBC Heritage in Hilton Head Island, S.C. Simpson birdied five of his final seven holes to shoot 7-under 64 for a tournament-record 22-under 262 total and one-stroke victory at Harbour Town Golf Links. It was the seventh career title for Simpson, 34, who won the Waste Management Phoenix Open on Feb. 2. Simpson lost to Graeme McDowell in a playoff for the 2013 Heritage title. Mexico’s Abraham Ancer (65) finished runner-up at 21-under 263. American Daniel Berger, who won last week’s Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial, birdied three of his last four holes as he tied England’s Tyrrell Hatton for third at 20-under 264. Late-afternoon storms delayed the final round by 2 hours and 46 minutes, forcing the final pairing of Ancer and Hatton to finish at dusk (scores).
