PGA Tour’s return from 3-month coronavirus suspension attracts 3.091 million viewers for final round, a 50-percent spike from the 2019 event
3.091: Average number of viewers, in millions, during the final round of Sunday’s Charles Schwab Challenge, the tournament’s most-watched final round in 16 years, CBS Sports reported Monday. The tournament, at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas, represented the PGA Tour’s return to live competition – and one of the first major sports events back on the air – since the three-month suspension because of the coronavirus pandemic. The viewership represented a 50-percent jump from last year, when the tournament was held in May, CBS said.
