6: Number of consecutive birdies that Denmark’s Nicolai Hojgaard made en route to a 7-under 64 and the first-round lead Thursday at the European Tour’s Commercial Bank Qatar Masters. Hojgaard, a tour rookie who will turn 19 on March 12, birdied Nos. 10-15 at Education City Golf Club in Doha, Qatar, before a birdie-bogey finish. Hojgaard’s twin brother, Rasmus, won the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open earlier this season. Joost Luiten of the Netherlands was one stroke behind and in second place. Former Ryder Cup player Thomas Pieters of Belgium was among five players tied for third at 66 (scores).
