Ewart Shadoff sets pace in Women’s Australian Open

Englishwoman shoots 7-under 66 in quest for her 1st victory in nearly a decade on the LPGA

66: First-round score for England’s Jodi Ewart Shadoff, whose 7-under round Thursday opened a one-stroke lead at the ISPS Handa Women’s Australian Open at Royal Adelaide Golf Club. Ewart Shadoff, 32, is looking for her first victory since joining the LPGA in 2011. “I feel ready now,” she said after a bogey-free round. “I feel like every part of my game is up to the challenge. It's hopefully going to be a good year and hopefully get that win.” Ewart Shadoff is a three-time member of Europe’s Solheim Cup team. South Koreans Jeongeun Lee6 and Inbee Park shared second place at 67. American Nelly Korda, the defending champion, shot 69 (scores).
