Keegan Bradley and Sebastian Cappelen shoot 6-under 66s to set pace at Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines
3: Number of strokes by which Tiger Woods trailed co-leaders Keegan Bradley and Sebastian Cappelen after the first round Thursday at the PGA Tour’s Farmers Insurance Open in San Diego. Cappelen shot 6-under 66 on the North Course and shared the lead with Bradley, who posted a 6-under 66 on the North Course. Woods, whose eight professional victories at Torrey Pines include the 2008 U.S. Open, shot 69 on the North Course and was tied for 21st. Woods, ranked No. 6 in the world, was making his first start of 2020. In his most recent outing, at last month’s Presidents Cup, he went 3-0 as player-captain in leading the Americans to a comeback victory. Eight players were tied for third at 5-under 67 at Torrey Pines, with seven of them playing the North Course, which generally is regarded as the easier of the two municipal courses along the Pacific in the La Jolla area.
