8: Number of strokes under par that American Tommy “Two Gloves” Gainey stood after 54 holes Tuesday to lead the Korn Ferry Tour’s season-opening Bahamas Great Exuma Classic. Gainey, 44, a former PGA Tour winner, shot a bogey-free 5-under 67 at Sandals Emerald Bay to open a one-stroke lead at 8-under 208. American Dylan Wu, the 36-hole leader, skied to a 76 and slipped into a share of second place with countryman George Cunningham (69) and Will Zalatoris (65) and Mexico’s Jose de Jesus Rodriguez at 7-under 209 on the windswept oceanside course. After darkness suspended play Monday, the second round was completed Tuesday. The 36-hole cut fell at 5 over (scores).
