Wu shot 6-under 66 in winds gusting to 28 mph for an 11-under 133 total at Sandals Emerald Bay Golf Course before darkness suspended the second round. Americans John Oda (71) and George Cunningham (69) were tied for second at 4-under 140. First-round leader Tommy “Two Gloves” Gainey skied to a 75 and fell into a share of fourth place at 3-under 141. The field scoring average is 74.9. Wu, 23, a 2018 Northwestern graduate, had one runner-up finish on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2019 in an otherwise forgettable season on the PGA Tour’s top developmental tour as he missed nine cuts in 13 events (scores).
