Thai adds Thailand Masters title for 4th victory of 2019 on tour and secures a spot in Masters Tournament at Augusta National
4: Number of victories on the Asian Tour during the 2019 season for Thailand’s Jazz Janewattananond, who won the season-ending Thailand Masters on Dec. 22. Janewattananond, 24, closed with a 6-under 65 for a 23-under 261 total and five-stroke victory at Phoenix Golf and Country Club in Pattaya, Thailand. It was the second consecutive triumph on the Asian Tour for Janewattananond, who already had clinched the Order of Merit title and secured a spot in the Masters Tournament in April at Augusta (Ga.) National Golf Club by moving into the top 50 of the Official World Golf Ranking. With the victory in the Thailand Masters, Janewattananond improved to No. 40 in the world order. He was only the second player to win four times in a season on the Asian Tour, joining compatriot Thaworn Wiratchant (2005). With his $1,058,525 in earnings, Janewattananond became only the fifth player on the tour to top $1 million in earnings, joining India’s Jeev Milka Singh (2008), Thailand’s Kiradech Aphibarnrat (2013), India’s Anirban Lahiri (2015) and Australia’s Scott Hend (2016).
