Curtis Thompson holes 25-foot birdie on final hole to tie Braden Thornberry and earn 2020 exemption on developmental tour

Thompson and Thornberry earned exempt status for the 2020 season on the PGA Tour’s top developmental circuit. Thompson closed with a 6-under 66 on Orange County National’s Crooked Cat Course to tie Thornberry (65) at 21-under 265 through 72 holes. Thompson, 27, is the older brother of LPGA star Lexi Thompson. Thornberry, 22, is the 2017 NCAA individual champion from Ole Miss. The rest of the top 10 and ties secured starts for the first 12 events of the regular season before the tour reshuffle. The rest of the top 40 and ties earned entry into the first eight events. All 154 competitors secured at least conditional status for next year (scores) .
