Curtis Thompson opens 1-shot lead in Korn Ferry Q-School

1: Number of strokes by which American Curtis Thompson led the Korn Ferry Tour Qualifying Tournament entering the final round in Winter Garden, Fla. Thompson shot 2-under 69 at Orange County National’s Panther Lake Course on Saturday for a 15-under 199 total. Nine players were within two strokes of Thompson, 27, who played the developmental tour in 2015-18 and is the older brother of LPGA star Lexi Thompson. The winner of the four-day, 72-hole event will be fully exempt for the 2020 season on the PGA Tour’s top developmental circuit. Finishers 2-10 (and ties) will secure starts for the first 12 events of the regular season before the tour reshuffle. Finishers 11-40 (and ties) will secure entry into the first eight events. All 154 competitors have secured at least conditional status for next year (scores / tee times) .
