11: Record number of appearances in the QBE Shootout by American Charles Howell III, who joined teammate Bubba Watson in grabbing a share of the lead after two rounds of the PGA Tour team exhibition in Naples, Fla. Howell, who is looking for his first victory in the event, and Watson shot 6-under 66 in the modified alternate shot on Saturday to move up four spots and join four other teams atop the leaderboard. They stood at 19-under 125 at Tiburon Golf Club. Rory Sabbatini/Kevin Tway, Ryan Palmer/Harold Varner III, Jason Kokrak/J.T. Poston and Billy Horschel/Brendon Todd are the other co-leaders entering today’s final round. Nine of the 12 teams were within two strokes of the lead with 18 holes to play. The unofficial Tour event opened with a scramble in Friday’s first round, played modified alternate shot in Saturday’s second round and will use a four-balls format in Sunday’s final round round (scores / tee times).
