European Tour matches Nos. 1-2 in final pairing in Dubai

Wiesberger, Fleetwood form last two-ball in DP World Tour event

1-2: Position, in order in the Race to Dubai standings, for Bernd Wiesberger and Tommy Fleetwood, who will make up the final pairing in the European Tour’s season-ending DP World Tour Championship. Play begins Thursday at Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (tee times). Wiesberger, 34, a three-time winner this season from Austria, would win the season title with a victory in this week’s $8 million finale. England’s Fleetwood, coming off a victory last week at the Nedbank Golf Challenge in South Africa, also could win the season title with a victory in the desert.

769: Number of career starts on the PGA Tour for Davis Love III when he begins play Thursday at the RSM Classic at Sea Island (Ga.) Resort (tee times). Love, 55, a 21-time winner on Tour, ranks fourth all-time in starts, behind Mark Brooks (803), Jay Haas (799) and Dave Eichelberger (784).
