CJ Cup at Nine Bridges opens PGA Tour's 3-stop Asia Swing
2nd: Start this season for Brooks Koepka, who will enter the PGA Tour's CJ Cup at Nine Bridges this week as the No. 1 player in the Official World Golf Ranking. Koepka, who missed the cut two weeks ago in Las Vegas, has been No. 1 in the world for 22 consecutive weeks in the wake of a three-victory season that began with his winning the 2018 CJ Cup in South Korea. Play begins today at Nine Bridges on Jeju Island. Koepka, a four-time major champion, is one of 10 major winners, including five-time major winner Phil Mickelson, scheduled to tee it up in the 78-man, no-cut event. The South Korea event will be the first of the PGA Tour's three-stop Asia Swing, which will include tournaments in Japan and China (tee times).
8: Number of top-10 finishes on the LPGA this season for American Danielle Kang, the defending champion at the Buick LPGA Shanghai, which begins today at Qizhong Garden Golf Club in Shanghai. Kang, 26, a two-time winner on the LPGA, also won the 2017 Women’s PGA title (tee times).
