ORLANDO, Fla. (Aug. 6, 2019) – The PGA TOUR begins a new iteration of the FedExCup Playoffs this week, with The Northern Trust at Liberty National Golf Club in New Jersey. The enhanced professional golf schedule will see the Playoffs staged at three events in the month of August, culminating with the TOUR Championship in Atlanta. The Korn Ferry Tour is in Oregon for the WinCo Foods Portland Open, the final event of the Tour’s regular season, with 25 cards awarded at week’s end for the 2019-20 PGA TOUR season. The Korn Ferry Tour Finals begin next week, with an additional 25 PGA TOUR cards available following the Korn Ferry Tour Championship on Monday, Sept. 2. The LPGA Tour stages the Aberdeen Standard Investments Ladies Scottish Open, where Ariya Jutanugarn will defend her 2018 title.

New iteration of FedExCup Playoffs begins: As part of the PGA TOUR’s enhanced schedule this season, the playoffs now consist of three events, with the top-70 in the standings at week’s end eligible to take part in next week’s BMW Championship in Chicago. The top-125 in the FedExCup standings currently have locked up their PGA TOUR card for the 2019-20 season, and are eligible to compete in The Northern Trust this week.

DeChambeau defends: Bryson DeChambeau finished four shots ahead of Tony Finau to claim his third PGA TOUR victory.
