ORLANDO, Fla. (July 23, 2019) – The networks of NBCUniversal this week will combine to air live coverage of the game’s top players on the professional tours. Tournaments this week include two major championships, a new World Golf Championships event and a regular season PGA TOUR event, and the fourth of six World Long Drive televised events in 2019.

The R&A stages The Senior Open presented by Rolex from Royal Lytham & St. Annes in England, with GOLF Channel and NBC combining for nearly 20 hours of live coverage Thursday-Sunday. Miguel Angel Jimenez will look to defend his title against Hall-of-Famers and some of the game’s legendary players in the fifth and final senior major championship of 2019. The LPGA Tour stages its fourth of five major championships and first of back-to-back majors this week with the Evian Championship in France, featuring more than 20 live hours on GOLF Channel and CNBC. Defending champion Angela Stanford headlines an international field that features 34 of the top-35 in the Rolex Women’s World Rankings. The International Federation of PGA TOURS is staging its third of four World Golf Championships events this week, the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational, taking place for the first time at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tenn. GOLF Channel will air nearly 15 hours of live coverage Thursday-Sunday, with GOLF Channel leading into CBS Sports’ live coverage Saturday and Sunday. The PGA TOUR also is staging the Barracuda Championship this week in Reno, Nev., featuring a modified stableford format. And the World Long Drive Association is staging its fourth of six televised events in 2019, the ROC City Rumble, taking place Wednesday at 6 p.m. ET in Rochester, N.Y.

Fifth and Final Senior Major for 2019: The Senior Open will be the fifth and final senior major championship for the 2019 season, and the fifth time the Senior Open is being held at Royal Lytham & St. Annes Golf Club.

Jimenez defends: Miguel Angel Jimenez defeated Bernhard Langer by one stroke at The Old Course at St. Andrews in 2018 to earn his sixth career PGA TOUR Champions win and his second major of the year.

Fourth of six televised Tour events in 2019: World Long Drive kicks continues its summer stretch of the season with the ROC City Rumble in Rochester, N.Y., airing Wednesday at 6 p.m. ET. The event marks the fourth of six televised World Long Drive Tour events in 2019, culminating with the Volvik World Long Drive Championship in September. The telecast will feature the four women and eight men having advanced from preliminary rounds earlier in the competition.
