Thor Guard to Launch ‘Thor Guard 360’ at 2019 PGA Merchandise Show

(SUNRISE, Fla.)Thor Guard – the world’s only lightning and tornado prediction system – will unveil its latest innovation, Thor Guard 360 (TG 360), at Booth #3329 during the 2019 PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Florida on January 22 - 25.

TG 360’s technology looks at science in an entirely new way, gathering at least 170,000 atmospheric samples per second to predict severe weather. Combining faster data acquisition and proven algorithms for all storm forecasting, it analyzes 20 times more information than ever before and features forecasting sensory machinery which predicts lightning strikes (including “bolts out of the blue”), high wind storms, tornadoes, dangerous heat levels and more. As with all Thor Guard systems, development and design is in house.

“We’ve studied more than 100 million hours of lightning strike data to continually improve our exceptional prediction and detection technology incorporating state of the art hardware,” says Bob Dugan, President of Thor Guard. “With TG 360, the team has formulated a system which meets the demands of golf course operators by protecting staff and guests against all severe weather events.”

With electrostatic sensors observing energy changes in local environments up to 25 miles away, TG 360 has a detection acquisition time of one millionth of a second while confirming distance and direction. Golf courses implementing the system can initiate the Voice of Thor horns automatically and through remote activation.

As the longest-tenured company in the category globally, Thor Guard continues to add to its decades-long leadership predicting (versus detecting) lightning and other threatening weather scenarios at professional golf events. Trusted by the United States Golf Association (USGA) and Professional Golf Association Sectional Championships, Thor Guard is widely used in 21 countries with more than 7,000 systems installed across golf courses, parks, schools and universities, cities and municipalities, air travel concerns, government agencies, mining and industrial companies, sporting events and broadcast media and more.
