Wickenburg Ranch hires golf pros

Wickenburg, Ariz. (November 7, 2017) – Wickenburg Ranch Golf & Social Club has named Steven Outlaw as the club’s new head golf professional and Brad Bachman as associate golf professional. Outlaw and Bachman will help oversee golf operations for the club’s award-winning 18-hole, par-71 course known as Big Wick as well as its 9-hole, par-3 course, Li’l Wick.

Located in historic Wickenburg, Ariz., approximately one hour northwest of downtown Phoenix near the intersection of Highways 89 and 93, Wickenburg Ranch Golf & Social Club will ultimately become an exclusive private club reserved for members and their guests. For a limited time as the community builds out, the spectacular club will be open to a controlled amount of unaccompanied non-member play.

Outlaw comes to Wickenburg Ranch from The Els Club Teluk Datai in Langkawi, Kedah, Malaysia where he served as the golf operations manager and head golf professional for nearly two years. Prior to The Els Club, Outlaw was the assistant golf professional at Abu Dhabi Golf Club in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates for more than three years. Before heading overseas in 2012, Outlaw served as an assistant golf professional at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Ariz. (2011-2012) and Troon North Golf Club in Scottsdale (2008-2011). He is a Class A Member of the PGA of America and holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Georgetown College in Kentucky.

Prior to arriving at Wickenburg Ranch, Brad Bachman most recently served as the head golf professional at Quintero Golf Club in Peoria, Ariz. Before his time at Quintero, Bachman was the first assistant golf professional at Troon North Golf Club from 2013 through 2016. Bachman is a graduate of Concordia University in Portland, Ore.

“I’m excited to welcome Steven and Brad to the Wickenburg Ranch Golf & Social Club team,” said Corby W. Foster, general manager, Wickenburg Ranch Golf & Social Club. “With Steven and Brad having both worked at Troon-affiliated facilities in Arizona and around the world, they understand the level of service and attention to detail Troon-managed clubs provide to members and guests.”

The Golf & Social Club is the centerpiece of the Wickenburg Ranch community. The club’s 18-hole par 71 course, known as Big Wick, opened in 2015. Since opening, Big Wick has received numerous accolades including being named No. 4 on Golf Digest’s list of “Top 10 Best New Courses in North America” in 2015 and No. 5 on Golfweek’s 2017 list of “Best Courses You Can Play in Arizona.”
