Award recognizes technical achievement by a Southwest Florida company
(NAPLES, Fla.) – Golf Life Navigators (GLN) – the world’s only virtual marketplace for consumer-to-club connections – is honored to announce that Phil Romano, PGA, was named winner of the Innovation Award from the Southwest Florida Regional Technology Partnership (SWFRTP). The Innovation Award is dedicated to recognizing technical achievement by a Southwest Florida company.
“Word traveled fast through our organization as we heard of Phil’s achievement in the technology space,” says Jason Becker, CEO of GLN. “Phil took the vision of the ProGuide3 questionnaire four years ago, rolled up his sleeves and went to work on the engineering to automate it. This is a tremendous accomplishment for a PGA Professional and the golf industry as a whole.”
“We were excited to learn of Phil’s accomplishment while in San Francisco to celebrate the PGA Championship,” says Seth Waugh, CEO of the PGA of America. “He is a shining example of the many different skills a PGA Professional can bring to any club or organization. To take his passion for technology and help thousands of golfers around the world make one of life’s biggest decisions is truly inspiring."
The Annual Awards ceremony for SWFRTP is the premier event for technology professionals across industry sectors to connect and celebrate the accomplishments of their peers. This year’s event had seven award categories and was joined by keynote speaker Jeffery Hayzlett, primetime television host of C-Suite TV.
“There were many deserving nominees for this category but the work Phil has done stands apart.” says Alex Allen, President of the SWFRTP. “I'm fortunate to have seen first-hand the passion he has for his work and it shines through in the end results. Golf Life Navigators is an asset to Southwest Florida and to the golfing community across the United States.”
