Division created to support and/or enhance turf managers' 'cultural practices.'
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Casa Verde Golf<https://casaverdegolf.com/>, an industry-leader in golf course construction and renovation, has launched a new Agronomic Solutions Division<https://casaverdegolf.com/agronomic-solutions/>.
Seeing a nationwide trend of turf managers outsourcing numerous agronomic projects, Casa Verde Golf’s Agronomic Solutions Division was created to support and/or enhance turf managers “cultural practices.” The firm’s menu of services includes: Linear Soil Decompaction, Fraze Mowing, Root Pruning, Green Aerification, Fairway Aerification and Brush-Hogging.
“We are seeing a growing need to assist golf course owners, general managers and superintendents with these specialty tasks and projects,” said Luke Beardmore, Senior Vice President of Agronomy & Construction for Casa Verde Golf, and its parent company OB Sports. “In the new COVID era, with golf course maintenance teams becoming more resource-strapped, daily maintenance and course conditioning need to be their number-one priority. Our team can be there to support their efforts by executing many time-consuming, but vital tasks. The trend of outsourcing agronomic projects is becoming more commonplace across the industry. We are pleased to be able to offer these critical services to the industry as a whole.”
Casa Verde Golf’s Agronomic Solutions Division is led by Division Manager Ken Yates. Yates assists golf properties in facilitating necessary work, while allowing their agronomy teams to remain focused on the required daily maintenance. In addition to project planning and oversight, Casa Verde Golf brings in all the necessary equipment to complete the job. Casa Verde Golf offers a “turn-key” solution to assist clients, is flexible in working with properties across the country and offers an “ala-cart” menu of services. Hourly rates and flat-fees for either time or acreage are also available to ensure projects remain budget friendly.
“We recognize that budgets, personnel and experience can be major limitations right now,” added Beardmore. “We can be the partner that helps golf courses be successful in all areas of maintenance and conditioning.”
The Agronomic Solutions offered by Casa Verde Golf fulfill today’s best practices in turf management, while allowing golf course maintenance teams to stay focused on fundamental maintenance practices without abandoning one for the other. For example, fraze mowing has gained significant popularity recently by adding options to traditional turf leveling. It is popular for all leveling operations, dethatching, poa management, sod prepping, resurfacing, and for summer de-thatching due to the “limited-prep.” Likewise, the linear soil decompaction offered by Casa Verde Golf is a critical agronomic practice in a golf course’s overall soil management strategy, but not commonly implemented.
