The Club at the Dunes welcomes Lee Sonsky as executive chef

New York native brings 20-plus years of culinary experience to private residential community in Naples, Fla.

Naples, Florida (November 20, 2019) – The Club at the Dunes, part of The Dunes of Naples private residential community in Naples, Florida, is proud to welcome Lee Sonsky as the club’s new executive chef. Chef Sonsky will oversee menu creation, food preparation and service at the club’s new dinning and catering venues.

Born and raised in Long Island, New York, Sonsky fell in love with the culinary world while working at a small mom and pop Italian restaurant and pizzeria. He moved to Florida in 2002 and began working at the world famous Breakers Palm Beach, where he spent 11 years honing his culinary skills. Most recently, Sonsky served as chef at the prestigious Boca Raton Resort and Club, a Waldorf Astoria property in Boca Raton.

Earlier this year, The Dunes of Naples completed a $9.2 million Amenities Center renovation and expansion project. The new coastal-themed Amenities Center includes a new 25,000 square-foot clubhouse with the new Royal Palm Room restaurant; a new SandBar indoor/outdoor bar; and a flexible club room for events. In addition, the club’s new Tiki Bar is a popular poolside destination for residents and guests. As part of the renovation and expansion, the entire pool area was renovated and now includes fire pit tables and a lounge area in a new courtyard. The wellness and fitness center was also expanded, adding a group exercise room, two rooms dedicated to massages or physical therapy, a new tennis office and pro-shop and a new recreational game room equipped with pool table, ping pong tables and shuffle board.
