Chambers Bay to host 2022 U.S. Women’s Amateur

Puget Sound municipal course, a 2007 Robert Trent Jones Jr. design, was site of Jordan Spieth’s victory at 2015 U.S. Open

Selected: By the U.S. Golf Association, Chambers Bay, a public course in University Place, Wash., as the site of the 2022 U.S. Women’s Amateur, the USGA announced Monday. The tournament dates will be Aug. 8-14, 2022. Chambers Bay, which sits on the lower Puget Sound, was the site of the 2010 U.S. Amateur, won by Peter Uihlein, and the 2015 U.S. Open, which Jordan Spieth won. This week, Chambers Bay is playing host to the U.S. Amateur Four-Ball, which is scheduled to finish Wednesday. The Robert Trent Jones Jr.-designed course, which opened in 2007, sits on the site of a former sand-and-gravel mining operation and part of a 930-acre Pierce County-owned park. This year’s U.S. Women’s Amateur is scheduled for Aug. 2-8 at Westchester Country Club in Rye, N.Y.
