Cristie Kerr accepts special exemption to U.S. Women’s Open

Kerr joins fellow American Paula Creamer in receiving invitation from USGA to June 3-6 USWO at San Francisco's The Olympic Club

Awarded: By the USGA, a special exemption to the U.S. Women’s Open to American Cristie Kerr, a past champion. Kerr was the second player to accept a special exemption to the June 3-6 USWO at The Olympic Club’s Lake Course in San Francisco, joining American Paula Creamer. Kerr, 43, a 20-time winner on the LPGA, won the 2007 U.S. Women’s Open at Pine Needles in Southern Pines, N.C. She will be making her 26th career start in the U.S. Women’s Open, and 24th in a row. Kerr and Creamer will be among 13 past champions scheduled to compete next month. Before this year, the USGA had awarded special exemptions to Juli Inkster (2013), Se Ri Pak (2016) and Karrie Webb (2018).
