COVID-19 knocks Seamus Power out of Zurich Classic

Irishman tests positive for coronavirus, PGA Tour announces, and Zack Sucher will pair with David Hearn in 2-man team event

Withdrew: From the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, Seamus Power, who tested positive for the COVID-19 virus, the PGA Tour announced Tuesday. Power, who had been scheduled to pair with Canadian David Hearn in the two-man team competition, was replaced by first alternate Zack Sucher of the U.S. Power, 34, of Ireland, tied for ninth last week at the Korn Ferry Tour’s MGM Resorts Championship at Paiute. In eight starts on the PGA Tour this season, he has one top-25 result, a T-22 at the Puerto Rico Open. Sucher, 34, has made two cuts in six starts on the PGA Tour this season, with a T-60 at Pebble Beach as his best result. The Zurich Classic begins Thursday at TPC Louisiana in Avondale.
