LPGA tweaks spring schedule with eye on Asia events

Tour reveals site change in Hawaii and Wednesday-Saturday dates for L.A. Open next month ahead of stops in Singapore and Thailand

Announced: By the LPGA, changes to its spring tournament schedule, according to a news release Wednesday. The Lotte Championship still will be played April 14-17 in Kapolei on Hawaii’s Oahu island but move from Ko Olina Golf Club to Kapolei Golf Club. The next week’s Hugel-Air Premia LA Open at Wilshire Country Club in Los Angeles will move up a day, to a Wednesday-Saturday schedule, and be played April 20-23. The LPGA added a travel day to allow players to get to Singapore for the HSBC Women’s World Championship on April 29-May 2 at Sentosa Golf Club. The LPGA will remain in Asia for the Honda LPGA Thailand on May 6-9 at Siam Country Club in Chonburi. The status of the Blue Bay LPGA on May 13-16 on China’s Hainan Island remains uncertain because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
