2021 WGC Match Play: Purse, prize money and payouts

American Billy Horschel earns $1.82 million from $10.5 million purse for 2-and-1 defeat of Scottie Scheffler at Austin Country Club

American Billy Horschel earned $1.82 million from the $10.5 million purse for his victory Sunday at the PGA Tour's WGC Match Play.

Horschel defeated Scottie Scheffler, 2 and 1, in the scheduled 18-hole final match at Austin Country Club in Texas' capital.

Matt Kuchar won the consolation match.

The tournament began with three days of round-robin play, with the winner of each four-man group having advanced to the Round of 16. From there, single-elimination matches whittled the field the rest of the way.

The WGC Match play was the first of two consecutive weeks in Texas for the PGA Tour, before the Masters on April 8-11 at Augusta National. This week, the Valero Texas Open will be played in San Antonio.
