USGA sets 10-man American team for Walker Cup

3 players return from 2019 team that defeated Great Britain and Ireland’s top male amateurs, extending U.S. domination in series

Announced: By the U.S. Golf Association, the 10-man American team that will face Great Britain and Ireland in the 2021 Walker Cup, the USGA said Monday in a news release. The team, to be captained by Nathaniel Crosby, consists of:

Ricky Castillo, 20, Yorba Linda, Calif.
Pierceson Coody, 21, Plano, Texas
Quade Cummins, 24, Weatherford, Okla.
Austin Eckroat, 22, Edmond, Okla.
Stewart Hagestad, 29, Newport Beach, Calif.
Cole Hammer, 21, Houston
John Pak, 22, Scotch Plains, N.J.
Tyler Strafaci, 22, Davie, Fla.
Davis Thompson, 21, St. Simons Island, Ga.
William Mouw, 20, Chino, Calif.

Hagestad, Hammer and Mouw return from the 2019 U.S. team that defeated GB&I, 15½-10½, at Royal Liverpool in England. The U.S. leads the biennial series, 37-9-1. The 2021 match is scheduled for May 8-9 at Seminole Golf Club in Juno Beach, Fla.
