2020 U.S. Women’s Open: 2nd-round tee times moved up

A forecast for stormy afternoon weather prompts the USGA to begin play 80 minutes earlier at Houston’s Champions Golf Club

Adjusted: Second-round tee times in the U.S. Women’s Open, which will start 80 minutes earlier Friday because of a forecast of inclement weather at Champions Golf Club in Houston, the USGA announced Thursday.

The 156-woman field will begin play in threesomes off the Nos. 1 and 10 tees at the Jackrabbit and Cypress Creek courses. After the 36-hole cut to the low 60 and ties, the tournament will conclude for the final 36 holes at Cypress Creek.

The forecast called for highs in the low 70s, with the chance of thunderstorms increasing to 75 percent in the early-to-mid afternoon and winds of 15 mph.
